PEDRO’S HOTEL IN BELIZE IS BRINGING CHRISTMAS TO LIBERTY CHILDREN’S HOME WITH FUNDRAISER DECEMBER 6TH
To bring gifts and Christmas dinner to the children of Liberty Children’s Home in Ladyville, Belize, Pedro’s Hotel is hosting a fundraiser Sunday, December 6th.
Starting at 12:00 pm, the fundraiser will include a chicken barbeque at $12 per plate, a raffle, a silent auction including a two-night beachfront condominium stay at The Phoenix ($700US value), a sunset cruise charter for 10 from Seaduced ($500US value), and dinners for two at Mata Chica, Portofino, and Victoria House. There will also be live music, various games and contests, and The Island Academy students will be having a Jump-O-Thon jump rope competition to help raise money. 50% of all food and drink as well as 100% of all silent auction and raffle proceeds will be donated to the home.
Including Banana Beach Resort, Capricorn Resort, and Caribbean Villas, more than 60 different businesses and sponsors have donated to the cause. “Our goal is for every child at the orphanage to have a Merry Christmas and receive a gift,” says Peter Lawrence, owner of Pedro’s Hotel.
“We are excited about the support San Pedranos are giving Liberty Children’s Home at a time when everyone is feeling financial stress. These kids desperately need our help,” comments Janet Vucinich, Help Liberty Group.
Liberty Children’s Home cares for approximately 40 children who have been abandoned and/or physically/sexually abused. Many also have disabilities, special needs, or are HIV positive. Liberty works closely with the Belize Human Services Department in the placement of the children at Liberty.
